Russian intelligence services were able to hack two robotic online external surveillance cameras in order to spy on the Defense Forces in the capital. One of the devices was located on the balcony of a high-rise building and was used by local condominiums to monitor the local area. The SBU press center reported this.
It is noted that the occupiers received remote access to control this webcam. Having penetrated her settings, Russian intelligence agencies changed the viewing angle and connected her to the YouTube streaming platform. Thus, the enemy covertly recorded all visual information within the range of the camera.
Another camera was blocked in one of the capital’s residential complexes, which residents used to monitor the local parking lot. It turned out that the Russians were using this camera to remotely monitor the surrounding area, including critical infrastructure.
According to available information, with the help of these cameras the aggressor collected data to prepare and adjust attacks on Kyiv, the intelligence service noted.
The SBU added that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, SBU cyber specialists have blocked the operation of about 10 thousand IP cameras that the enemy could use to correct missile attacks on Ukraine.
Let us remind you that on January 2, the Russian occupiers launched kamikaze drones and missiles across Ukraine at night and in the morning. In particular, Kyiv and Kharkov came under massive attack, but explosions were also heard in other regions. The enemy used 99 missiles of various types and 35 Shaheds today, but the air defense managed to destroy 72 missiles and all drones.
