Putin called EU countries “stupid” for their rejection of Russia’s energy resources

According to the president of the aggressor country, “the Russian Federation will not collapse” and this is allegedly “clear to the Western states.”

The countries of the European Union “caused harm to themselves” by denying Russian energy resources, because “you have to be completely stupid not to understand this.” This was said by the president of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, at the plenary meeting of the Russian Energy Week on October 11, RosSMI reported.

“They left us, they had to buy oil elsewhere (oil – Ed.), which is what they do. And we replace the volume that went to other markets here. Well, it’s impossible to live without it, you know right? And the world economy cannot develop. But they are forced to buy, which means it is more expensive, “he said.

In addition, according to Putin, American liquefied natural gas is 30% more expensive than gas supplied by Gazprom in Europe. With high gas prices, the economies of many businesses in the West are supposedly “going down,” which, in turn, leads to their closure.

“Glass factories, which also require a lot of energy, are closing down. Metallurgical factories are in poor condition. Chemical factories are clearly problems. Some factories are gradually starting to move to the United States States, move to work there, and the factories are closing here. Well, is this normal? Why did they not understand what all this would lead to? They bumped into each other, “said the Kremlin leader.

At the same time, according to Putin, “Western countries understand that Russia will not fall.”

“Why do you have to create problems for yourself in the hope that we will fall? But we will not fall, everything is clear, and they all (EU countries – Ed.) understand,” said president of the aggressor country.

It is worth noting that if in July 2022 the price of gas in Europe exceeded $2,500 per thousand cubic meters, in October 2023 it will be less than $300.

Europe is expected to enter the winter heating season with record gas reserves in storage, protecting the region from the threat of shortages and high prices. Meanwhile, Russian Gazprom is suffering losses. By the end of the first half of 2023, Gazprom’s gas business has become unprofitable. This happened for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic and for the second time in the last 25 years.
