This is stated in the construction of the Ukrainian General Staff.
Judging by the erection of the Ukrainian General Staff as of Wednesday evening and military blog posts on both sides, the outbreak of activity of the Russian army on the eastern front continued on Wednesday: Russian units repeatedly attacked Ukrainian positions in the Avdievka area, on the northern sector of the front, in the Marinka area, as well as in the area Ugledar.
The Ukrainian General Staff claims that all attacks have been repelled.
According to information, over the past 24 hours, Russian units have attacked 10 times in the vicinity of Avdeevka itself, which is located in a semicircle, and eight times at the ends of this semicircle in the north and south.
The two sides’ reports on the results of these and yesterday’s attacks differ, but not very much: Russian military bloggers, in particular, claim that their units have advanced in the north to the outskirts of the village of Berdich, and Ukrainian ones – in particular, the authors of the construction of the General Staff – say that the line the front remained at least two and a half kilometers to the east, on the approaches to the village of Stepnoye.
In addition, z-bloggers claim that the Russian military took the waste heap (a mountain of mine dumps) that reigns over the north of Avdeevka.
The day before, the Russian army, after massive artillery and air strikes, launched an offensive in the Avdeevka area with relatively large forces. The Ukrainian General Staff later announced that up to three battalions took part in the offensive.
In addition to Avdeevka, Russian troops, according to information from the Ukrainian General Staff on the evening of October 11, actively attacked in the north, in the area of the village of Makeevka (not to be confused with the city of the same name in the Donetsk agglomeration), near Bakhmut, south of Donetsk – in the Marinka area, and further south -to the west along the front – in the area of Ugledar and near Zolotaya Niva.
