Andrei Tsaplienko said that Russia “planned to assign the Cubans to the units of the 106th Guards Airborne Division.”
Hundreds of potential militants from Cuba continue to be transported to Russia, despite the mercenary scandal. Ukrainian military correspondent Andrey Tsaplienko reported this on Saturday, October 7, on his Telegram channel, citing his own sources.
“About 400 “volunteers” from the Republic of Cuba received Russian citizenship and… are undergoing training at one of the training sites, probably in the city of Tula,” the journalist said.
According to him, the Cubans “are planned to be assigned to the units of the 106th Guards Airborne Division, that is, military unit 55599 with a permanent deployment point in Tula.”
He also added that individual elements of this division were noted in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
Earlier, the media said that Russia had recruited at least 140 Cubans to fight in the war in Ukraine.
We remind you that the Cuban Foreign Ministry announced that Russia is recruiting citizens of the country for the war.
