Half of the station is under water, the second half is 70% in the water. The erosion of the station will continue, water flows will wash away the land between the gateway and the station. In addition, the erosion of the hydraulic structure continues. Ihor Syrota, General Director of Ukrhydroenergo, announced this on the air of the telethon on June 8.
According to him, today the water level in the reservoir is 12.5 m, and this is below the dead point, which is 12.7 m, when it is still possible to take water to settlements and for the Zaporozhye NPP for cooling.
Now specialists are working on a project to repair the hydroelectric power station and are creating a bridge project. The work will take several months if you work around the clock. But the construction of a new hydroelectric power station will take almost five years, also with a very tight work schedule.
Recall that on June 6, 2023, at night, the Russian invaders blew up the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, as a result of which the station was destroyed. About 80 settlements, including Kherson, were in the flood zone.
The Ukrainian authorities and intelligence are sure that the Russian military undermined the dam on the personal orders of the Russian dictator and war criminal Vladimir Putin.
