The enemy committed this war crime on June 6 at about 2.30 am, thereby creating a mortal danger for Ukrainians in settlements on both banks of the Dnieper below the Kakhovka reservoir. This is an unconditional act of ecocide, the impact of which goes far beyond the borders of Ukraine and affects the ecosystem of the entire Black Sea region. This was reported in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
Due to the undermining of the dam, the threat of a nuclear catastrophe is increasing, since the filling of the cooling ponds of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant depends on the water level in the Dnieper.
This terrorist attack is a sign of the panic of the Putin regime and an attempt to complicate the actions of the Ukrainian security and defense forces. It will become weighty evidence at the international tribunal, which undoubtedly awaits everyone involved in the commission of war crimes on the territory of Ukraine.
Intelligence officials recalled that in April 2022, the Russians additionally passed the locks and supports. On the dam itself, the enemy set up tilt trucks with explosives.
Recall that the Ukrhydroenergo company said that the explosion of the turbine hall from the inside led to the complete destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP and after that the station cannot be restored. The preliminary forecast assumes that deterioration of the reservoir is expected over the next four days.
