This decision was adopted by 55 votes at an extraordinary session of the Rivne Regional Council, which met on April 10. The deputies also supported the cancellation of decisions made by the executive committee of the regional council in the early 90s of the last century regarding the registration of charters and the transfer of religious buildings to the religious communities of the UOC-MP. This was reported by the press service of the regional council.
Now the question of how exactly the region is going to implement the decisions of the regional council remains open. Deputy Sergei Kondrachuk said that the mechanism for implementing this ban has not been spelled out. The chosen one believes that it is necessary to make a lot of efforts to the executive branch, law enforcement agencies and members of religious communities.
Archbishop Pimen, who was present in the voting hall to the head of the Rivne diocese of the UOC-MP, stressed that earlier the Council of their denomination changed the charter and “the blessing of the Moscow Patriarch was abolished,” and then, he added, “the church is completely independent.”
Recall that on April 5, the parishioners of the St. George Cathedral of the UOC-MP in Lviv decided to transfer to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
