The Air Force explained the needs of Ukraine, commenting on the constant publications of the Western media about various aircraft for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Air Force speaker Yuriy Ignat, the Ukrainian Air Force’s need for combat aviation has long been known and was even spelled out in the Air Force’s Vision long before Russia’s full-scale invasion. The priority is the adoption of Western aircraft of the fourth generation of pluses, which have undergone a deep modernization.
He noted the publication “League”:
Without mentioning the specific type of aircraft, Ukraine needs a Western aviation platform to use modern weapons – high-precision corrected air bombs, cruise missiles, air-to-air and air-to-surface guided missiles.
On March 22, Ignat denied information from French journalists that Ukrainian pilots were being trained in France on Mirage 2000 fighters.
He stressed that thousands of Ukrainian servicemen, including those from the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, are now being trained in different countries of the world, and this is a “typical phenomenon.”
Namely, in France, courses for aircraft controllers, survival courses, and others were held, but “there is no language yet about the training of flight personnel.”
At the same time, an Air Force spokesman said that various partner countries are offering Ukraine sites for possible future pilot training.
Earlier, the speaker of the PS of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that air defense systems are designed to protect more local and stationary objects – military airfields, critical infrastructure, government buildings, and so on. And aircraft with efficiency and mobility are a more basic part of air defense than anti-aircraft missile systems.
