The SBU blocked 26 Telegram channels that prevented the mobilization of Ukrainian citizens of military age.
This was announced today, March 8, by the press center of the SBU.
Internet resources “reported” about the events held by the Territorial recruitment and social support centers in Ivano-Frankivsk, Cherkasy, Vinnitsa, Chernivtsi, Kiev, Lvov and Odessa regions, the special service notes. – First of all, they “leaked” the actual places of delivery of summonses to military service and called for hiding from representatives of the military registration and enlistment offices.
It is noted that to collect information about the “location” Telegram channels used their own network of informants among local residents. As a result, constantly updating information, they have increased their own audience to more than 400 thousand subscribers.
After that, according to the SBU, the administrators of the Telegram channels decided to make a business out of this and offered their platforms for placing commercial advertising.
In the course of investigative and operational actions, the employees established the identities of all the organizers of criminal activity, the SBU notes. – Among them are two owners of an SMM company that promotes Internet resources using the so-called bot farms.
During searches at the addresses of the defendants, it was found:
- computers and mobile phones with evidence of illegal actions;
- bank cards that received money for advertising.
Currently, six administrators of the indicated Telegram channels are planned to be notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 114-1 of the Criminal Code (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations) with the subsequent selection of a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
Attackers face up to 10 years in prison, the SBU added.
