The war showed which sectors and social institutions in Ukraine must be modernized in order to be competitive and innovative.
Higher education in Ukraine must be modern and competitive. This was announced on Sunday, January 22, by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a meeting with students and teachers of Taras Shevchenko National University.
He emphasized that knowledge liberates a person, including the labor market.
“This is very important: not to find a job, but to be independent, so that a business or government institution can follow you,” he said.
The head of state pointed out that Ukrainian education should also be relevant and meet the needs of the times, without losing educational standards and assets.
According to him, it was the war that showed in which areas it was time for Ukraine to modernize. In particular: missile attacks and hostile drone attacks have highlighted the need to protect and reform the power grid; cyber attacks – on the importance of protecting financial institutions; blackout – the need to develop and implement technologies that will work even when everything is completely turned off.
“That’s what I mean when I say that education must be competitive and modern. Modern professions. We must know that we can no longer live the way we used to live. And we must build a state that will be a model of security . And to me, it seems that we have every opportunity for this,” added the president.
It should be noted that the President of Ukraine and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where Volodymyr Zelensky rejected any allegations that the Ukrainian victory was not necessary or a partial success is acceptable.
Earlier, an agreement on cooperation in the field of education was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of Moldova.
