Near Chernigov, a passenger car slid into a river while driving on a pontoon crossing across the Desna. This was announced on Sunday, January 22, by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, on his Telegram channel.
According to him, traffic was blocked in this area.
“Due to the emergency situation, which occurred around 4:40 pm on January 22, traffic was closed at a pontoon crossing across the Desna River near Chernihiv. Today, special services are working in the area. The time for traffic restoration is not yet known,” said Chaus.
He added that the continuation of the trip will be announced later. The detour is carried out via an alternative route – the road R-69 Kyiv – Vyshgorod – Desna – Chernihiv.
In this regard, local journalists reported that rescuers have already raised the car from the river.
Information is spreading on social networks that the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle while driving on the crossing and slipped into the river. The man in the car swam out, the woman and two children were killed. However, there is no official information yet about the injured or victims of the emergency.
Earlier it was reported about a large-scale accident in the Lviv region: more than 30 people were injured.
