“On Friday, specialists from the Mission Control Center near Moscow, along with Russian cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station, conducted several tests on the systems of the Soyuz MS-22 manned spacecraft, including temperature measurements in the living space of the spacecraft. (descent module and utility compartment), where the temperature is about + 30 degrees Celsius,” said the state corporation and called such a change in the temperature regime “insignificant.”

Roscosmos added that changes in the temperature regime are not critical today for the operation of equipment and comfort of the station crew, including according to reports from the crew themselves, and do not pose a threat to life and health of astronauts.

According to the state corporation, the media information disseminated on Friday about the temperature increase in the Soyuz MS-22 ship up to +50 degrees is not true.

“The necessary temperature regime in the living space of the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft is maintained by the Russian segment of the ISS,” added the press service.

Roscosmos also said that currently, specialists on Earth, together with the station’s personnel, are developing various options for “preventing the situation that arose”, continuing to analyze the data coming from on the ISS, including photo and video recordings.

On the eve of Roskosmos canceled the spacewalk from the ISS for technical reasons. It was later revealed that on board the Soyuz MS-22, the outer skin of the integrated instrument compartment was damaged.

According to Roscosmos’ executive director for manned programs Sergei Krikalev, the cause of the leak in the ship’s cooling system may have been a micrometeorite hit.
