The United States of America and NATO is launching a new mechanism for supporting Ukraine at the Ukraine Repurenes List (PURL) initiative. This was announced by Ukraine’s defense minister Denis Shmygal on Telegram on Monday, August 4.
“The purpose of this mechanism is to ensure the rapid supply of systems and weapons in Ukraine, which in large quantities can be obtained from the United States to strengthen Ukraine’s positions and create conditions for achieving a fair and stable world,” the head of the Ministry of Defense wrote.
According to him, the Purl initiative was implemented as part of the agreements between the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, US president Donald Trump and Nato General Mark Rutte, thanks to the new country’s alliance mechanism and partners will be able to supply the supply of American weapons and technology through voluntary contributions.
Purl provides for the development of a list of equipment and ammunition generated based on Ukraine’s requests, confirmed by the Supreme Commander -in -Chief of the NATO in Europe (Saceur). New help packages will be expressed regularly. The NATO will coordinate supplies within this mechanism, including through existing NATO care assistance and training in Ukraine -NSATU).
“The Netherlands took the finances of the first package of help in the amount of 500 million euros, and it is expected that the supply of weapons will take place in the near future. The new important ads are also expected in the near future,” Shmygal emphasized.
