Strong flares have been recorded on the Sun, which is why the Earth is under the influence of strong magnetic storms.
The most active sunspot in cycle 25, AR3663, once again emitted a powerful flare. It was joined by its neighbor, AR3664, which also emitted an X-class flare and several M-class flares.
Both outbreaks occurred on May 8 within hours of each other. This is the strongest flare on the Sun. One of these explosions was accompanied by the release of plasma into space, which reached the Earth and caused a magnetic storm.
According to Meteoagent, on May 10 the magnetic storm will reach five points (large according to the K-index), and on May 11-12 its strength is expected to increase to eight points.
During a magnetic storm, the following symptoms are observed:
-
depressed mood and irritability;
-
increase or decrease in blood pressure;
-
did not sleep well;
-
joint pain;
-
apathy or restlessness;
-
headache and dizziness;
-
exacerbation of chronic diseases.
What to do to feel better during a magnetic storm:
-
eat healthy and exercise;
-
get more rest and sleep;
-
drink more water or herbal tea;
-
do not drink alcoholic beverages or fatty foods;
-
add more herbs and seasonal vegetables;
-
avoid stress and disturbing events;
-
add a contrast shower before bed to your daily schedule;
-
Check your home medicine cabinet for needed medication.
It was previously reported that the Solar Orbiter spacecraft took new photographs of the Sun, which showed the process of sunspot formation.
