The first Starship launch spread potentially hazardous debris into homes and wildlife habitats.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has banned Elon Musk’s SpaceX from launching its massive Starship rocket. An investigation has been launched into its recent explosion, reports Space.
The US government has suspended Starship flights due to claims that the first launch spread potentially hazardous debris into homes and habitats of endangered animals.
At the same time, the launch authorization will be renewed when the FAA determines that the process will not affect public safety.
It was noted that dirt and debris from spacecraft tests fell on the inhabitants of the city of Port Isabel, located 10 kilometers from the launch pad. In particular, Boca Chica Beach, home to endangered animals, was hit.
City residents reported broken windows and ash particles in homes and schools. In particular, the cement from the launch pad that was damaged due to the rocket launch allegedly fell into the ocean.

Recall that on April 20, SpaceX conducted the first full test launch of a very heavy 120-meter Super Heavy launch vehicle with a Starship spacecraft.
This ship is planned to be used in the future to take people to the Moon and Mars. But an emergency situation occurred – the launch vehicle with the Starship spacecraft exploded four minutes after launch.
The fortune of the head of the company, Elon Musk, dropped by 12.6 billion dollars in one day.
