Vladimir Putin has expressed readiness for the complete end of the fire in exchange for the release of Ukrainian troops from the eastern part of the Donetsk region, reports the Wall Street Journal on Friday, August 8, citing resources.
According to the publication, the President of Russia submitted the US administration, led by Donald Trump, a proposal to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The key conditions provided for significant territorial concessions from Ukraine, including removal from the Donetsk region, as well as recognizing Russia’s sovereignty to Crimea obtained in 2014. In response, Russia has promised to stop hate.
The proposal includes two stages. First, they asked to withdraw the troops from the Donetsk region from Kyiv and to -freeze the front lines. In the second phase, it was planned to organize the final peace agreement between Putin, Trump and Ukrainian head Vladimir Zelensky.
