President of the Republic Dina Boluartepresided over today, Sunday, the first session of the National Council for Disaster Risk Management (CONAGERD), before intense rains, which are registered in several regions of the country.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of State reported that 400 districts Peru has declared a state of emergency due to the impact of Cyclone Yacu.
“400 districts have been declared an emergency due to the impact of the current Cyclone Yaku on our national territory,” the president said at a press conference, attended by the prime minister, several government ministers, Lima Mayor Rafael López Allaga and other high-ranking officials.
The President also announced the reengineering of the office Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (ARCC) to give an effective solution to the problem that periodically generates intense rains in the country.
In this sense, he said that since its inception in 2017, ARCC he built hospitals, schools and other infrastructure damaged by river rains; however, “no solution to the underlying problem was reached.” In this regard, he stressed that ARCC needs to be restructured and provide a national perspective.
