congresswoman Sigrid Bazan (Cambio Democrático) questioned the round of negotiations that the government Dina Boluarte with some parties. In addition, he expressed regret that this initiative is not carried out with regional organizations “in the same way and with the same intensity” as it is carried out with political parties.
“I am sure that any dialogue is welcome, but sometimes it seems that this is not a dialogue aimed at resolving the crisis, but rather part of a political calculation to see the survival of Mrs. Boluarte as President of Peru. So these meetings are a little disturbing, and we hope that they are on the way out of the crisis,” he said.
“I believe that this is about the person responsible for the massacre in our country, I believe that this government does not have the legitimacy to demand dialogue, and public organizations themselves have demonstrated this (…) I think it is very difficult to find a real dialogue . I believe in dialogue, but in sincere dialogue that does not threaten you,” he added.
in dialogue with Things as they arethe parliamentarian recalled that her caucus, Cambio Democrático-Juntos por el Perú, demanded that projects be prioritized not only to advance elections in Constitutional Commissioneven with the possibility that they may be released from the commission to return to their plenary debate.
In addition, he indicated that another issue that his panel asks is that the issue of a presidential vacancy should be given priority, because this could lead to the same conclusion as the proposal for an early election: leaving Dina Boluarte president. The parliamentarian admitted that although this figure will not solve the country’s structural problems, “it will open a truce in terms of dialogue.”
Sigrid Bazan He assured that five members of the Cambio Democrático-Together for Peru faction are in favor of early elections even in 2023, if this is still possible. Despite this, he felt that this promotion needed to be “not tied” to other aspects, such as re-election of congressmen to secure replacements.
Dina Boluarte convenes political parties
President of the Republic Dina Boluarte, called on this Wednesday, February 15, the leaders of political parties “to resolve the political and social crisis that the country is going through” in government palaceinformed Presidency from their social networks.
They added that the meeting also aims to “promote a space for dialogue and consensus” regarding the social and political situation that the country is experiencing in the national context and the international vision of this panorama.
“In this sense, [Dina Boluarte] sent an appropriate invitation to representatives of political organizations to hold meetings at the headquarters of the Government Palace, starting tomorrow, February 15, 2023.
In this regard, Congressman Hector Acuna noted that the meeting should have taken place long ago in order to be able to engage in dialogue with political parties in the context of “permanent conflict.”
“It seems interesting to me, something that should have happened a long time ago. All parties are vertical (party owner, managers, benches). Some issues and projects can be touched upon so that the leaders are actively involved and ahead of the citizenship. Make a party life and try to manage the fate of the country, the leaders are those who manage the benches, they are there and you can hear them,” the parliamentarian said in Things as they are.
