Since she was announced as a participant in BBB 23, the appearance of actress Bruna Griphao is one of the most talked about subjects among Internet users. Known since the age of 10, the singer’s physical change caught the public’s attention and yielded several statements from her; among them, the most recent dissatisfaction with the result of a rhinomodelation.

During a conversation with Gabriel Santana and Marvilla, in the most guarded house in Brazil, the actress revealed: “I’m going to pass the xepa, but I’m going to be happy. That’s why plastic surgeon Dr. Paolo Rubez, member of BAPS (Brazilian Association of Plastic Surgeons) and the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), clarifies some of the main questions of those who want to perform the technique. According to Dr. Paolo Rubez, it’s perfectly possible. “Performing rhinoplasty after rhinomodelation it is not an uncommon practice. While some patients arrive at the office wanting to make permanent the already lost result of rhinomodelation, others have the injectable procedure precisely to get an idea of ​​how the effect of plastic surgery would be and, thus, perform it with greater confidence”, says the specialist.

Like Bruna Griphao, there are patients who seek the procedure out of dissatisfaction. “There is still a group of patients who seek rhinoplasty because they are not satisfied with the result of rhinomodelation, as it is a procedure with certain limitations, being generally indicated only for the correction of slight asymmetries and imperfections in the nose”, explains Dr. Paolo Rubez.

Those who wish to undergo rhinoplasty after rhinomodelation need to adopt some additional precautions, such as waiting for the filler substance to be reabsorbed. “The main substance used in injectable fillers is hyaluronic acid, which, as it is biocompatible, is reabsorbed by the body in about a year”, says the surgeon.

Therefore, according to him, the ideal is to wait for this period before doing the rhinoplasty. “In this way, the doctor will be able to assess your nose as it really is to devise a strategy capable of providing satisfactory and, at the same time, natural results”.

However, as explained by the expert, there are still solutions for those who want to fix the problem faster. “Depending on the case, when the patient is in a hurry to perform the surgery, one option is the application of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that quickly degrades hyaluronic acid, reversing its effects. The substance must be applied at least 2 weeks before the surgery, but it may not completely degrade the acid in just one application”, says the professional.

3. Is it possible to apply fillers after rhinoplasty?

According to the specialist, the possibility of applying fillers after rhinoplasty, if patients are still not satisfied with the result, is feasible depending on their expectations. “If the patient just wants to discreetly improve details of the nose, rhinomodeling can be performed”, he says.

However, there are cases where it is not indicated. “In cases where the patient is very dissatisfied with the result or suffers from aesthetic or functional impairments of the nose caused by the first rhinoplasty, such as asymmetries, deformities and decreased breathing capacity, the ideal is to opt for secondary or revisional rhinoplasty, which is nothing more is that performing a new plastic surgery on the nose”, says Dr. Paolo Rubez.

However, the specialist explains that, before defining the best procedure, it is necessary to talk to a professional. “The decision for one of the two procedures it must be done by the patient together with the plastic surgeon, who can carry out an evaluation to indicate the most recommended option in each case”, he explains.
