All proceeds will be used to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians affected by the war in the Russian Federation.
British rock band Pink Floyd has released a new song Hey Hey Rise Up with vocals from Ukrainian musician, Boombox soloist Andrey Khlyvnyuk. The corresponding video appeared on the team’s YouTube channel.
The track was released in support of the people of Ukraine, and all proceeds will be directed to humanitarian aid to Ukrainians.
The musicians used the vocals of Khlivnyuk, who in the early days of the war from the center of Kyiv sang a song considered the song of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen – Oh, there was red viburnum in the meadow.
The music video for Hey Hey Rise Up was directed by Matt Whitecross the same day the track was recorded.
“We, like many, feel anger and frustration at this heinous act of invading a free, peaceful, democratic country and killing its people by one of the world’s greatest powers … Hope I’m sure the track will receive widespread support and publicity. We want to raise money “and morale. We want to show our support for Ukraine and thus show that most of the world considers it completely wrong for a superpower to invade the independent democratic country that has become Ukraine, ”the musicians said.
The cover of the song also features the sunflower of Cuban artist Yosan Leon.
It is said to be a direct reference to a woman seen around the world urging Russian soldiers to carry seeds in their pockets so that when they die, sunflowers sprout.
