After all, what happened to Vector?

Find out what happened to Vector after the end of ‘Despicable Me’, a film released in 2010

Presenting himself as the villain of the first film in the ‘Despicable Me’ franchise, Vector had his plans thwarted when, at the end of the film which was released in cinemas around the world in 2010, he ended up defeated by Gru, Margo, Edith, Agnes and the Minions, being isolated on the Moon — but what happened to him after that?

The question remained a mystery for over 13 years, as the answer was only granted to fans with the release of the short film ‘Mooned‘, shown before the sessions of ‘Ducks!’, an Illumination film that premiered on the big screen in December of last year in the United States and in January of this year in Brazil.

In ‘Mooned’, a Minion who gets lost in space after taking a potion formulated by Mr. Nefário that allows levitation ends up floating to the Moon and finding Vector, who is desperate to return to Earth.

The yellow being tries to communicate with Vector so that they can both get out of there, but they can’t understand each other. Thus, Vector carries out a series of plans with the help of his orange suit full of technology, but none of them work.

Meanwhile, other Minions end up finding the lost little yellow one. They try to call Vector to get on the ship with them and everyone to leave, but the villain doesn’t pay attention. So, they leave without Vector, who doesn’t give up on putting yet another plan into practice and, after a lot of effort, ends up managing to leave the Moon.

The problem is that it doesn’t travel to Earth. The character ends up landing on Mars and, therefore, needs a new idea to reach his destination — only this time, he no longer has his incredible orange suit to help him, since, in the middle of the mission, he ended up leaving -it on the Moon. Furthermore, the Minions also have their trip interrupted and end up stopping on the red planet.

There, a Martian tries to communicate, first with Vector, and offers him a chance to go home, but he doesn’t pay attention. The same happens with the Minions, but, unlike the villain, they understand ET, who ends up giving them a ride to Earth.

In the end, the Minions manage to return home, and Vector is once again trapped and alone, only now, with nothing more than his underwear, suggesting that this was really his definitive end in the franchise.
