Financial assistance will be directed to the provision of public services and payments to the population.

The World Bank is preparing a $ 1.5 billion aid package for Ukraine, WB chief David Malpass said on Tuesday, April 12, Reuters wrote.

He mentioned that this became possible after the approval of the International Development Association’s assistance amounting to $ 1 billion the other day, as well as the payment of $ 100 million to neighboring Moldova.

Malpass specified that this tranche will help Ukraine provide critical services, including providing payments to doctors, pensioners and social programs.

Earlier, Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko said that due to the war in Russia, the 2022 budget deficit in March reached $ 2.7 billion and its growth rate will continue to grow to $ 5-7 billion in April-May.
