Ukraine has found part of the required amount of gas, but almost half of the resources are not enough.
Due to the massive Russian attacks in Ukraine, there is a gas deficiency of a relatively large amount. This was announced by President Vladimir Zelensky while talking to journalists on Monday, June 2.
“We are lacquer, I do not want to tell you what value, enough for a huge amount. We remember about the fact that there is a huge attack on gas storages and also the gas -making infrastructure. And this has been since the fall of last year,” said the head of the state.
According to the President, Ukraine lost several opportunities, they were restored. “But we agree with the energy minister that we are looking for opportunities, how to close this deficiency, which can happen, if not all are restored, if we cannot fully provide our gas population,” Zelensky added.
Ukraine has found part of the required amount of gas, but almost half of the resource is not sufficient to cover the needs.
The head of the state noted that Norway can help cover gas deficiency per billion euros. Today, in Vilnius, a meeting was held with Prime Minister Norway Jonas Gar Stree.
“We talked about issues that are important for Ukraine today. I have received a positive signal from it. This applies to gas: if we have a winter deficiency, can we rely on the corresponding volume. I receive support from Jonas today,” the President said.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine would receive more gas from Greece. In December 2024, Ukraine first received liquid natural gas from the United States through Greece.
