The department recalled that the register was the first element of the international compensation mechanism, the need for which it was recognized by resolving the A/RES/ES-11/5 UN General Assembly “which promotes legal protection and ensures damage related to aggression against Ukraine” of November 14, 2022.
The creation was announced at the IV Summit by the leaders of state and government of the European Council, which took place in Reykjavik, the Republic of Iceland, on May 16-17, 2023.
From April 2, 2024, the register has received applications for compensation for losses, losses or damage caused by Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Currently, the possibility of submitting applications is available in 11 categories.
Remember that the register created in the Hague for Russian invasion victims has proven the first statements from the Ukrainians for compensation for losses.
