The tax law stipulates an increase in military taxes on the salaries of citizens from 1.5% to 5%.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed into law a historic tax hike approved by the Verkhovna Rada. It was reported on the parliament’s website on Thursday, November 28.
The main thing in the law is the increase of the military tax on all incomes of Ukrainians from 1.5% to 5% this year and next. The military tax for military personnel remains at 1.5%.
A military tax was introduced for individual entrepreneurs: 1% of income for single taxpayers of group III; 10% of the minimum salary for individual entrepreneurs – single taxpayers of groups I, II and IV (that is, 800 Hryvnia).
The law also provides for setting the income tax rate for banks for 2024 at 50% (instead of 25%) and increasing the corporate income tax rate for non-bank financial institutions (except insurers) to 25 % from 2025.
In addition, the law provides for advance payment of tax for gas stations.
We remind you that today Zelensky also signed the law on the state budget for 2025.
As Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal reported, laws on the state budget for 2025 and on changes to the tax code will come into force on December 1.
