The Council of the European Union will now begin to develop a written procedure. It is used for measures that do not require discussion between block leaders.
The ambassadors of the European Union countries approved a tranche of 4.2 billion euros to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program. This was announced by the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the EU on the social network X on Wednesday, July 24.
“Today, the ambassadors approved the first phase of the Regulations of the Ukraine Plan for the Facility of Ukraine, which paves the way for the transfer of almost 4.2 billion euros in support of the recovery, reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine,” said of the statement.
It is indicated that as a next step the EU Council will start developing a written procedure. It is used for measures that do not require discussion between block leaders.
As you know, on February 1, EU leaders at a summit in Brussels agreed on a €50 billion support program for Ukraine called the Ukraine Facility. It is designed for the period of 2024-2027. It is assumed that the receipt of funds for the Ukraine Facility will depend on the implementation of 100 quarterly indicators by Kiev.
We remind you that on June 27, Ukraine received 1.9 billion euros from the European Union. This is the third tranche under the Ukraine Facility program.
And on July 17, the European Commission gave a positive assessment of the payment allocation of 4.2 billion euros under the Ukraine Facility program. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal expects Ukraine to receive this tranche in September this year.
