Honey is probably one of the few components of Ukrainian agrarian exports that have not suffered from blocking the ports of the Russian troops.
Ukraine took place in the 3th place at World Honey Exporters in 2024, which put 85.8 thousand tons of products in foreign markets. This was informed by the Ukrainian Club of the Agrarian Business (FEAB) on Tuesday, August 19.
Ukrainian honey, despite the difficulties of an entire war, showed a steady positive trade dynamics.
Today the top-5 of the world’s largest export of honey in 2024 is as follows:
-
China with a volume of 169.6 thousand tons;
-
India – 94.8 thousand tons;
-
Ukraine – 85.8 thousand tons;
-
Argentina – 78.1 thousand tons;
-
Vietnam – 48.2 thousand tons.
Analysts note that honey is probably one of the few components of Ukrainian agrarian export that does not suffer from blocking the ports of the Russian troops, as most consumers are European countries.
Previously, quotas for this product for Duty -Free imports, allocated under EU co -departure, were depleted by Ukrainian exporters in a few days -sometimes this occurred on January 4. After removing duties and fees from Exports of the European Union European Union exports, Ukrainian Beekeepers have Opportunities Europe.
Ukrainian’s largest honey buyer is:
-
Germany – 18.9 thousand tons.
-
USA – 12.1 thousand tons.
-
Poland – 9.7 thousand tons.
-
France – 9.6 thousand tons.
-
Belgium – 7.1 thousand tons.
In addition, Ukrainian honey is also represented in the markets of Turkey, Great Britain, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Qatar, Jordan, etc.
At the same time, experts warned that in 2025 the newly introduced quotas created additional honey exports to the EU.
“Although the quotas significantly exceed the earlier ones, they still have not covered the full potential of exporting Ukraine. However, this is an important step that helps Ukraine manufacturers to maintain competitiveness in the European market, which remains key to selling Ukrainian honey,” Fereb said.
Remember that the Ukrainian honey, which is imported by European Union countries, has fallen under tariff quotas of deep and comprehensive free trade (GVSST) between Ukraine and EU.
