What’s better than a hot aromatic drink when it’s dark and cold outside? Here are some recipes for hot alcoholic drinks that will warm you up and add comfort.
In this collection, we have collected not only the traditional recipes for hot cocktails with alcohol, but also some trivial ones – like rum and chocolate, hot cider and even whiskey. The process of making them is so much fun that it can be a great way to spend part of a weekend when it’s raining or snowing outside.
Let’s start with the classics. Grog is a hot drink made from tea and rum. Brew 150 ml of strong black tea, separately pour 30-40 ml of Billy Bones rum into a well-warmed glass. Then pour the tea into a glass of rum with the addition of a teaspoon of sugar syrup. This is a basic recipe, to which spices (cinnamon, anise, cloves) and a slice of orange are often added.

Another recipe with rum – blow. There are many variations of its preparation, but we will look at the most popular – Caribbean rum. They prepare a lot of it at once, for a big, happy company.
For this you will need 400 ml of rum, 700 ml of drinking water, six lemons, 3-4 tablespoons of sugar and ginger. Mix freshly squeezed lemon juice with water and sugar, heat to 70°C, then add rum and sprinkle grated ginger on top.
Mulled wine – a classic European hot drink made from red wine with spices. Take a bottle of TM La Cantina dry red wine, a spoonful of sugar, a few pieces of ginger, nutmeg, five cloves and one or two cinnamon sticks. Pour the wine into a saucepan, add spices and sugar. Heat the mixture over low heat, without boiling, and remove from the stove as soon as the white foam disappears and steam appears. Next, you need to let the mulled wine stand for 10-15 minutes under the lid, then it is advisable to strain it – and you can serve it in tall glasses or cups.
On your day off, after a delicious lunch, treat yourself and your guests Irish coffee. For four servings, prepare 120 ml Al Capone whiskey, eight teaspoons of sugar, 500 ml freshly brewed strong coffee, 150 ml whipped cream and cocoa powder for decoration. Pour four teaspoons of whiskey into each glass and add one teaspoon of sugar. Light the sugar in the glass, turn off the flame, and then pour the remaining whiskey, add another teaspoon of sugar and coffee. Garnish with whipped cream and finally cocoa powder.

For cooking hot rum with chocolate You will need 25ml Billy Bones rum per serving, 125ml hot cocoa, 20g grated chocolate and whipped cream for decoration. Mix the rum and cocoa in a glass, put the cream on top and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
Have you tried spiced hot cider? Try it, it’s delicious! Take two liters of TM Bravo apple cider, three cinnamon sticks, two teaspoons of grated orange zest, three cloves, ground black pepper on the tip of a knife. If desired, you can add chopped apples and thin orange slices.
Put it all in a saucepan and heat over low heat, without boiling. When steam and the first bubbles appear, reduce the heating power to the minimum and hold for ten minutes, stirring. Then remove from heat and let stand covered for another ten minutes. To increase the strength of the drink, you can add rum or whiskey to taste, and then pour the drink into cups.
And finally – traditional British whiskey cocktail “Old Tom” To prepare it, you will need a glass of drinking water, a cinnamon stick, 2-3 cloves, 50 ml of whiskey, two teaspoons of honey, two tablespoons of lemon juice. Add spices to boiling water, remove from heat and let cool slightly and cook. Strain the hot mixture, mix with whiskey, add lemon juice and honey.
