Representatives of German regional governments are demanding that the Ministry of the Interior consider building new modern bomb shelters for civilians in all regions, against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine. On Sunday, December 11, Bild reports.

In particular, Bundestag deputy Andre Bergegger said that “it is now impossible to save on security and civil protection.”

The representatives of the lands request to allocate 10 billion euros for the repair of the existing ones and the construction of bomb shelters.

Note that the inventory of existing bomb shelters in Germany should be completed by the spring of 2023. Currently, there are only 600 prepared shelters operating in the country, which can accommodate approximately 500,000 people.

The publication clarified that most of the civilian bunkers in Germany were dismantled after the Cold War, some were destroyed after World War II.

Remember that in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, schools competed in organizing shelters.

Recall that shelter stops began to appear in Kharkiv in the summer.
