The new, ninth package of European Union sanctions against Russia is aimed at undermining the Russian military-industrial complex and affects a number of Russian industries.
The European Commission has proposed expanding the sanctions list with 169 organizations supplying Russia with goods “that can contribute to the technological improvement of the Russian defense and security sector,” writes Politico, which was in possession of draft restrictive measures.
With regard to export controls, it is proposed to apply to drone engines, chemical and biological equipment, riot control equipment and electronic components.
The EU also wants to expand the list of sanctioned aviation and space products by adding aircraft engines and parts, as well as “laptops, hard drives, cameras and lenses.”
Russia’s propaganda channels will be subject to sanctions, in particular, the suspension of broadcasting licenses for NTV / NTV Mir, Russia 1, REN TV and Channel One is envisaged.
Another document proposes to introduce restrictive measures against several Russian military formations, including the commander of the neo-Nazi group Rusich, Yan Petrovsky, who maintains close ties with the Wagner Research and Production Company.
Recall, on December 7, the European Commission announced the ninth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation for the war unleashed by it, which proposes to be approved by the member countries.
