Danish television channel TV 2/Bornholm sent an underwater drone to the site of the gas pipeline explosion Nord Stream-2 and got the destruction. The video was shown on the evening newscast on 24 November.
It is understood that the broadcaster has been waiting for weeks for permission to film from the Danish Maritime Authority. On Thursday, the team went to the site of the leak and spent about five hours searching for a hole in the gas pipeline.
As the TV channel stressed, this is the first official footage of the damage from the Danish economic zone.
Analyst Jens Wenzel Christoffersen of the University of Copenhagen commented on an underwater video of the damaged gas pipeline.
According to him, it is a sign of destruction Nordic stream 1 and 2 are almost identical.
“The explosions look the same. There are deformations on the right side of the pipe. (…) One can safely conclude that the same structure is involved,” Kristoffersen told TV2.
Recall that at the end of September, the authorities of Denmark and Sweden reported gas leaks in two strings Nord Stream near the island of Bornholm, which occurred due to explosions.
Russia called the incident sabotage, the EU announced a possible sabotage.
Later, the Swedish authorities confirmed the fact of sabotage on gas pipelines – the investigation found the remains of explosives.
