Russia has not found mass support in Ukraine, but there are cases of collaborationism, the Ukrainian leader said.

Ukrainian authorities do not consider all those living under the occupation of Russian troops as collaborators. This is what the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Monday, October 3.

“Our approach has always been and remains clear and fair. If a person did not serve the occupiers and did not betray Ukraine, then there is no reason to consider such a person as a collaborator. These are simple things. If the teacher remained a Ukrainian teacher and did not lie to the children about who the enemy was… Or if someone remained a Ukrainian employee of the Ukrainian public utility service and, for example, helped maintain the supply of energy for people, then you can’t blame such a person for something,” he explained.

The head of state noted that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians were in the temporarily occupied territory, many helped the Ukrainian military and special services, many simply tried to survive and waited for liberation.

However, the president admitted, there are and are those who support the enemy and help him.

“Such cases are quickly established by the Security Service of Ukraine and are not massive. Russia has not found mass support in Ukraine, and this is a fact,” Zelensky said.

Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation reported the suspicion of two traitors who worked for the occupiers in Starobilsk, Luhansk region, and Izyum, Kharkov region.
