The Foreign Ministry reiterated the need to consolidate the efforts of the international community to ensure the demilitarization and de-occupation of the ZNPP.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine published a statement on the illegal detention of the General Director of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, Igor Murashov.
“This crime is another manifestation of state terrorism on the part of Russia and a grave violation of international law. Russia must immediately release the General Director of the ZNPP. We call on the international community, in particular the UN, IAEA and the Group of Seven, which also took decisive steps towards this end,” the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry reiterated the need for the maximum mobilization of the efforts of the world community to ensure the demilitarization and de-occupation of the ZNPP and its return under the control of Ukraine, as this is the only way to eliminate the current nuclear security threat.
“We expect increased pressure on the aggressor state to stop shelling by Russian invaders of ZNPP and other civilian nuclear facilities on the territory of Ukraine, to prevent pressure and repression against ZNPP personnel and their family,” the Foreign Ministry said.
It will be remembered that the Russian patrol stopped the Director General of Zaporozhye NPP Igor Murashov on the way from the station to Energodar. The invaders stopped the general director’s car, and took him blindfolded in an unknown direction. There is currently no information on the whereabouts of Igor Murashov.
