Azov commanders will soon personally talk to the press, but the exact date of the press conference has not yet been determined.
The commanders of the Azov regiment, released during the exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, are in Turkey in good condition. This was announced on Monday, September 26, by Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, writes Ukrinform.
“They are in good conditions there, under the personal, say, guarantee of the President of Turkey. All conditions are created for them for a safe normal life, as much as possible.
And the only condition applied to them as part of the exchange of prisoners of war is a restriction and ban on returning to Ukraine while there is a war in our state with the Russian Federation,” he said.
Lubinets added that defenders of Ukraine can move freely throughout the country. They also meet regularly with representatives of Ukraine.
Later, according to the Ombudsman, they will be able to meet with the media.
He added that the government continues to deal with the issue of the return of military personnel from Zmeiny Island, National Guardsmen captured in the Chernobyl zone, and other defenders from Russian captivity.
Officials are also dealing with the release of civilian captives from captivity, some of whom received sentences in the Russian Federation of 15, 17, 19 years in prison.
Recall that on Thursday night it became known about a large exchange of prisoners, in which Ukraine returned 215 people. 10 foreigners were also released. As reported, as part of the exchange of prisoners on Wednesday, September 21, the commander of the Azov Regiment Denis “Radish” Prokopenko, his deputy Svyatoslav “Kalyn” Palamar and the commander of the 36th Marine Brigade Sergei Volyn was released.
