Downpours and strong winds caused chaos during the day – residents of many villages and cities were left without electricity, and a man died in the Sumy region.
Due to difficult weather conditions, 857 settlements in Ukraine were de-energized in the past day. It was reported to the State Emergency Service.
Nine regions suffered the most – Sumy, Khmelnytsky, Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnitsa and Kirovohrad regions.
And in the city of Buryn, Konotop district, Sumy region, a person died because of a storm – a wall of a house fell on him. Eight other residents were injured, two of them children.
So, a two-month-old baby was delivered to the Konotop Central District Hospital, having received shell shock and is in intensive care, according to the local newspaper Panorama. A woman with a broken arm was hospitalized in Sumy, two other people were hospitalized in moderate condition in a local hospital.

The press service of JSC Sumygaz reported that due to bad weather, almost 500 households in the city of Buryn were left without gas. Fixed damage to ground gas networks. Sumygaz emergency workers are working in the area to resume the supply of blue fuel to the homes of affected residents of the Sumy region as soon as possible.
