Germany’s plan is to ensure that German-Russian relations will suffer as much as possible, regardless of the outcome of the war in Ukraine, the Polish minister believes.
Germany is deliberately delaying the provision of real military assistance to Ukraine, as it still relies on the continuation of normal cooperation with the Russian Federation. This is what Polish Foreign Minister, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Zbigniew Rau said in an interview with I.pl.
“Meanwhile, the scale and speed of Germany’s support for Ukraine shows signs of deliberate procrastination, as if the intention is that, regardless of the outcome of this war, German-Russian relations suffer as little as possible, also at the cost of trusting Germany in the free world,” said the Polish diplomat.
According to him, Germany is in a difficult situation.
“Currently, Germany is in an unenviable position not only because of the complete failure of its policy in Russia and, more broadly, in the whole of Eastern Europe, but mainly because of the collapse of the German economic model, which based on access to Russian gas. imported into Germany at reduced prices,” said Rau.
Recall that earlier the German coalition decided not to provide Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine, because, according to politicians, “it will take time to train the Ukrainian military.”
In addition, on the eve it became known that Berlin approved the sale of 18 RCH-155 self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine, but their delivery is possible no earlier than 2025.
