Respect for the independence of Ukraine is the basis of the Crimean Platform, and the territorial integrity of states is a fundamental principle of the world order, the US Secretary of State believes.
The United States will not tire of repeating that Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk are Ukraine, said US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, speaking via video broadcast at the second Crimean Platform Summit.
The US considers it critical to emphasize that Russian-occupied Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk have been and remain Ukrainian territory, the Secretary of State said, stressing that this has been his country’s position since 2014.
Blinken emphasized that respect for the independence of Ukraine is the basis of the Crimean platform, and the territorial integrity of states is a fundamental principle of the world order: if it is violated somewhere, it is always something of the security of the whole world. .
“We see that in the occupied territories Russia appoints its puppets to formally elected positions in the same way as it did in Crimea. We see attempts to hold imitation referendums to “legitimate” the occupation – exactly the same as in Crimea. We see repressions, extrajudicial killings, kidnappings, torture, rape and filtration operations – like in Bucha and Irpin – some of which we have seen before and we are seeing now in Crimea,” emphasized the US Secretary of State.
It will be remembered that during the summit, the President of Ukraine said that there is already a strategy for the restoration of Crimea after its liberation from the invaders.
