Among the items seized in the search from the former president of the United States are documents classified as “top secret”, accessible only to employees of special government agencies /
Agents of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation seized 11 sets of classified documents during a search conducted on August 8 at former US President Donald Trump’s estate in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. This was reported by the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal, citing a list of materials confiscated from Trump.
The list includes, among other things, documents classified as “top secret”, available exclusively to employees of special government agencies, the WSJ notes.
The US Department of Justice partially confirmed the publication of the newspaper, saying that top secret documents were taken from Trump, but did not specify their quantity. In addition, the Ministry of Justice reported that the former president is suspected of violating the espionage law.
According to Trump’s lawyers, before leaving the White House, the former President of the United States, within the framework of his authority, declared the discovered documents. As Trump himself said, there is “no need” for FBI agents to seize declassified documents, because they can get them at any time, “without playing politics and without getting into Mar-a- Lake.”
In turn, the Washington Post, citing informed sources, reports that FBI agents are looking for secret documents related to nuclear weapons at Trump’s residence. Whether they were found or not is unknown. Trump himself said in this regard that “the issue of nuclear weapons is a hoax.”
In total, FBI agents removed approximately 20 boxes of documents, photographs, and notes from Trump’s estate. Among them is Trump’s order pardoning his former adviser Roger Stone, as well as information about the French president, the WSJ notes.
Donald Trump is no longer the President of the United States, but continues to attract attention. True, now mainly criminal cases. He has many of them. About this in detail in Trump’s material, a prison awaits.
