At least 77 Ukrainian athletes of high level and various disciplines have died as a result of Russian invasion Ukraine, according to a local sports NGO count that includes registered casualties up to 11 July last year.
local agency Ukrinform cites a report prepared NGO Sports Angelswhich contains information about the deaths of these athletes under various circumstances since the beginning of the Russian invasion on February 24.
The Ukrainian agency also indicates that the NGO’s website will soon update this information, which will include seven more Ukrainian athletes who have died in recent weeks.

The list includes a kickboxing specialist Nikolai Zabavchukrugby league player Maxim Shvetsor local strongman champion Vasily Pavelyev.
A swimmer was also among the dead. Vladimir Ulyanitskywater polo coach Vitaly Lysunartistic gymnast Daria Kurdel and football player Sergei Balanchuk.
