Former People’s Deputy from the “Party of Regions” and the defeated candidate for mayor of Kharkiv Mikhail Dobkin became a deacon of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The Metropolitan of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine Onuphry held a ceremony and appointed the former representative of the people Mikhail Dobkin to the rank of deacon of the UOC-MP. This was announced on Thursday, April 7, by the press service of the diocese of Kharkiv.
“During the sacred service, the Metropolitan Onuphry ordained a graduate of Kharkov Theological Seminary Mikhail Dobkin as a deacon,” the statement said.
OCU father and Kiev Orthodox Theological Academy teacher Ivan Sidor noted that now Dobkin should be called “father”.
