Usually in all cases all of them occur near the E22 highway along the Eastern coast of Sweden.
In Sweden, police are investigating about 30 cases of sabotage against telecommunication towers that occurred along the E22 highway on the country’s east coast. It was reported by the SVT that there was a reference to the documents and comments of law enforcement officials.
Unknown attacks did not steal the equipment, but deliberately damaged the equipment – they cut off the cables and disabled fuses. According to Roger Gustafsson, head of the Swedish State Public Communications and Telecommunications Service (PTS), cases took place in a clearly defined geography region and abnormal in size.
Most of the incidents were recorded during the Easter holidays. In places, mobile communications are not accessible, but there is no significant disruption in the operation of the network. The PTS has even created a crisis office to coordinate actions.
Law enforcement officials are studying the version that most cases are the same attacking or group of people.
“There are events that indicate the connection between the incidents, but the investigation draws the final conclusion,” explained prosecutor Michel Staine.
The Sweden Security Service is also monitoring the investigation. Police will not exclude a single version, along with attempts at reconfing or verifying readiness for crisis situations.
Earlier, European Intelligence Services warned their governments that Russia was preparing works of violence and sabotage throughout the continent.
In Poland they will be punished for taking photographs of critical infrastructure
