In London, the Highmast Mission for the deployment of Aircraft Carrier Group with HMS Prince of Wales as a flagship is called the largest in recent years
The British Navy, today, April 25, begins the Highmaste mission with the deployment of the Shock Group aircraft carrier, headed by the latter HMS Prince of Wales, which houses F-35b fighters. The duration of the campaign is 8 months, and the country’s Ministry of Defense announced that this is the most powerful shock group in recent years, writes Defense Express.
In general, at the first stage he declared the composition of the group as follows, and in addition to the British ships in it of Canadian and Norwegian:
- HMS Prince of Wales (R09) – British aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth (flagship);
- HMS Dauntless (D33) – British salvation of guilty defense of type 45;
- HMS Richmond (F239) – a British prosthetic reference type 23;
- HMCS Ville de Québec (FFH 332) – Canadian frigate of the Galifax class;
- Hnoms Roald Amundsen (F 311) – Norwegian frigate Fridtjof Nansen;
- British RFA Tidspring Tanker (A136) and Norwegian Hnoms Maud (A530);
- HMS Dauntless;
- HMS Dauntless.
But the composition of the group will change, and the ships of other military forces will join it. And in the end, sending any aviation strike is a demonstration of force. And that is why it is very important to look at the route itself.
And this happens as follows: from the UK to the Mediterranean Sea, then through the Suez Canal, which the group should go closer to the end of May to the Red Sea. Through the Indian Ocean – to Australia, which should be achieved in July, and take part in Talisman Saber 25 exercises.
In August – to Korea and Japan, which he will leave in September. On the way back, the group will pass next to Taiwan. He will come to India in mid -October and at the end of this month. And arrival in the United Kingdom is expected in 227 days at sea in early December.
And during this campaign, British sailors will closely interact with the Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, Canada and the United States. In general, the vector of the demonstration is very clear – China, especially in the vein of the Union of Defense of the Skus between Australia, Great Britain and the USA.
But in addition to Taiwan, the voltage points can be the passage of the Bab -elmodeb and the Gulf of Aden due to the threat from the Yemeni Gusites. In addition, in early June, the British strike may be in significant proximity to Iran. And the second time this will happen around November this year.
Recall that HMS Prince of Wales stood in line in 2019 and is the second of the two aircraft carriers of Queen Elizabeth. It is intended for an air group of 24-36 F-35B fighters. Currently, the ship has only 18 F-35b, but during the campaign their number will be brought to 24.
In addition to the fighters, Air Group will include 16 helicopters: Merlin MK2 Protetic, the multifunctional Merlin MK4 Commando and AW159 WildCAT. In addition, the British plan actively use drones, including the heavy Malloloy T-150 and Puma Scouts.
