Affordable energy prices are a priority and measures to achieve this goal will be presented next month.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she plans to present a plan next month to reduce energy prices in the European Union. DPA reported it.
Affordable energy prices are a priority and measures to achieve this goal will be presented next month, von der Leyen said.
“Energy prices in Europe are still relatively higher than in the United States or China, and they vary within the European Union itself. They need to be reduced until the phasing out process of Russia’s fossil fuels,” von der Leyen said.
He added that diversifying energy suppliers and investing in “next-generation clean energy technologies” were key to lowering prices in the EU.
Von der Leyen said she plans to present an affordable energy plan in February.
As you know, the European Commission considers relatively high energy prices in the EU as one of the main obstacles to the economic revival and competitiveness of the European Union.
We remind you that in the European Union, solar energy has overtaken coal as a source of electricity.
