These are steps that can strengthen Ukraine’s position and force Russia to establish a just and lasting peace. They also discussed the prospects for expanding joint projects for the production and repair of weapons and equipment in Ukraine.
Pistorius noted that Germany has already ordered 54 new RCH 155 self-propelled artillery systems for Ukraine.
“I think they will come as quickly as possible, because this is really a very effective and mobile system that will help you to a great extent in your ongoing struggle,” said the minister.
He also spoke about the results of yesterday’s meeting of the Group of 5 in Warsaw – the defense ministers of Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy and Poland, who united in a new negotiation format to strengthen European security and strengthen the support for Ukraine.
In this regard, Zelensky thanked Germany for its assistance to our state, all Ukrainians and Ukrainian women since the beginning of the Russian invasion and contribution to saving lives and protecting the whole of Europe.
The President noted that the total amount of support provided by Germany is about 16% of all aid received by Ukraine from partners.
“We are especially grateful that in difficult moments of blackouts and defense of the sky, Germany made one of the biggest contributions to the protection of the Ukrainian sky, with the construction of the newest air defense system of the Ukrainian defense systems, IRIS- T, of course, grateful and for Gepard, which protects our critical infrastructure and continues to do so,” he said.
Separately, he mentioned the joint leadership of the United States of America in the Ramstein format.
