Police said “cans of gasoline and large fireworks were found in the trunk of the car.”
Police found fuel cans and fireworks in the Cybertruck that exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Local police reported this on Wednesday, January 1, Axios reports.
Las Vegas Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill said “gas cans and large fireworks were found in the back of the vehicle.”
Previously, Tesla CEO Elon Musk wrote on social media X that “the explosion was caused by a very powerful firework or bomb being carried on the back of a rented Cybertruck,” and was not related to the vehicle itself.
Police also said there was no connection between the Las Vegas blast and the terrorist attack in New Orleans, where a man with an ISIS flag in a pickup truck drove into crowds celebrating the New Year. 10 people died and 30 others were injured.
We remind you that a Tesla Cybertruck exploded near the Trump hotel in Las Vegas on the morning of Wednesday, January 1, resulting in one death and seven injuries. The only victim was inside the vehicle.
