The only victim of the incident was inside the vehicle. Seven other people around were injured. Elon Musk reacts to the explosion.

A Tesla Cybertruck exploded near the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, January 1, killing one person and injuring seven, Reuters reports.

One person was found dead inside a 2024 Tesla Cybertruck and seven people suffered minor injuries in the explosion, police said.

The cybertruck reportedly arrived at the Trump hotel at 8:40 a.m. local time.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the electric car maker is investigating the fire.

“Tesla’s entire executive team is currently investigating this matter. We have never seen anything like this,” he wrote on Social Media X.

Recall that in the past year, Tesla has recalled its Cybertruck vehicles six times due to malfunctions.

As reported, the previous day in New Orleans, a car driver crashed into a crowd of people celebrating the New Year. 10 people died and 30 others were injured.
