After the fight, the man went home to get a weapon, then returned and shot several people. He then went to the bar owner’s house, where he killed his wife and children.
At least ten people were killed in a shooting that took place in a bar in the city of Cetinje in Montenegro on Wednesday, January 1. Among the victims were two teenagers, four other people were injured, Vijesti reports.
It is known that before the shooting there was a fight at the bar.
“According to witnesses, a fight broke out in this establishment, then the man, who is now wanted, pulled out a weapon and started shooting,” local media reported.
According to Montenegrin state television RTCG, authorities called on city residents to “remain calm” and not leave their homes. The attacker was identified as Aco Martinovic. They added that he was known for his “unstable character” and had previously been in prison for illegal possession of weapons. The TV channel also showed the photo of the suspect, who the police are looking for.
Journalists noted that the man went home after the bar fight to get a weapon, then returned and opened fire, killing and wounding several people. He then went to another location where he killed the children of the bar owner and his wife, the RTCG alleged.
Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajic declared three days of mourning in the country. He said it was a “terrible event” that affected everyone. At the same time, Spajic did not specify the number of deaths as a result of the shooting.
It was previously reported that near Kyiv, a tenant shot the property owner and fled in his car.
