The Energy Support Fund for Ukraine has been replenished with funds from the Italian budget.
Italy has allocated 13 million euros to support Ukrainian energy. The funds were allocated on behalf of Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. This contribution is one of the largest from a single country. The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this on December 31.
Rome noted that this money will help stabilize the supply of electricity to millions of war-affected Ukrainians.
This decision is an important step in attempts to restore energy infrastructure damaged by the war, the Foreign Ministry noted.
As you know, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund was created in the spring of 2022. Through it, Ukraine finances the purchase of spare parts and equipment for destroyed energy infrastructure facilities.
Let us remind you that on the morning of December 25, the Russian invaders launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. The enemy’s target was energy facilities. On that day, DTEK announced an attack on thermal power plants. As a result of the massive attack, the equipment of the thermal power plant was seriously damaged. After the end of the shelling, the power engineers promptly began to eliminate their consequences and resume operation of the equipment.
