The DBI and the police reported suspicion to the director of the enterprise from Krivoy Rog.
In 2023, the company entered into a contract with a military unit of the National Guard in the amount of UAH 30 million. Subsequently, the company supplied the military with 20 thousand sleeping bags. The delivered goods did not meet the technical requirements. The examination found that the fabric did not correspond to the declared composition, and the bags were missing important elements: a fleece backing and a layer of special fabric that provides thermal insulation. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Due to the discrepancy, the sleeping bags could not be used for their intended purpose, which jeopardized the comfort and safety of the Ukrainian military.
Law enforcement officers announced suspicion of fraud committed on an especially large scale to the director of the enterprise (Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The military unit has already filed a lawsuit in the amount of UAH 6 million for damages and a demand to replace low-quality goods.
Let us remind you that the Kiev Court of Appeal ordered the State Bureau of Investigation to initiate a case against the ex-commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Sodol, about whom the chief of staff of the Azov brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine Bogdan Krotevich complained.
