Every second working resident of Russia (48%) is now facing financial problems. Over the past four years, this number has increased significantly: in 2020, only 35% of Russians reported regular money problems, according to the results of a study by the NAFI analytical center .
More than a third (34%) of these individuals noted that they often experience financial problems, and 14% – very often. At the same time, 45% of respondents said they rarely have money problems, and 5% said they never have.
Russian children under the age of 25 and people with higher education have been the most resistant to financial difficulties in the Russian Federation. In these categories, the share of those who do not experience money problems is 17% and 9%, respectively.
Of those experiencing financial hardship, 55% reported that it had a negative impact on their work performance. The most common consequences are a decrease in motivation (23%), a decrease in attention and concentration (19%), a general decrease in performance (17%), spending time at work solving personal financial problems (11 %) and increased irritability (8%) .
